You don't need to read every post (though it's a good idea, that's how I got started) and you don't need to use this site's slow and clumsy search.
Google is your friend. It's fast and it knows everything we've said here. You just have to know how to ask it. I'm about to show you how so watch carefully.
Here's an example search that will tell you everything this board knows about Gigi:
In Google, enter: gigi site:www.hostboard.com
Open up a new browser window and try it.
If you want to know every word of uncertain wisdom that Sam has ever typed here:
In Google, enter: Uncertain Stoveman site:www.hostboard.com
What about rockwool? What have we ever said about rockwool?
In Google, enter: rockwool site:www.hostboard.com
What about the oft-discussed hot topic of aluminum and alzheimers?
I'm leaving that as an exercise for the reader.
I hope you see the pattern here. You can tell google to limit its search to a specific site.
There, I've just taught you to fish. Now go teach others.

OK, at risk of further embarrassment I am going to ask something (get ready and be nice).
When a person (nobody you know) misspells something on a post (like a title of a post, not that this has ever happened to me). How would a person change this?
My friend is hoping for help soon,
Thanks,

In the line above the post you will see an icon of a sheet of paper with a pencil, click that and then make your changes. When you're done, click the edit post button below the text window.
I use the feature often... I am a terrible typist and, apparently not much better at proofing my work.

Haven't posted in a while. Usually nothing to add that cannot be better said or has already been said. That said, I am still trying to find the time to begin my restore. Like Lowracer, I have read everthing ever entered on this board and have a pretty good memory. However, lowracer just gave me a better idea of how to search, thanks. As usual, I learn something new here each time I enter. I hope that as my restore progresses, that I will be able to add the expertise that stoveman refers to. Now I think we should be nice to stoveman, and buy him a beer the next time we see him at the Lantern.
Frank
Hoping to restore a 90C sometime in 2006.

My friend says thanks Michelle- she wanted to know how to fix posts for a long time. I told her she should have googled it but she just flat out refused (she is like that sometimes).

Your mom goes to kowledge. ;-)
The search function isn't that bad -- it just takes patience and a bit of creativity. Try plugging in different words if the first attempt doesn't work.
I'm itching to get started on my resto. Still awaiting my manual....

Phoebe, your friend is a hoot!!
I've been wondering how to fix posts for a while, too, but my friend didn't want to ask, either...
Three cheers for Sam and Todd!!!

I thought Sam's favorite place to get a cold beer was the Lighthouse. Wherever and whatever it is I hope someday to meet him in person (along with Lowracer, RobbiQuest, Phoebe, Berlyn, Joe Pieweed and all the other generous and patient contributors to this fantastic board ) and buy him the libation of his choice.
Lowracer, thanks for the lesson in using Google. That is way better than the way I have been searching. Despite some previously documented rude comments by Longhorn afficionados in the past, it is clear that you are one smart Aggie. My best man went to grad school at A&M, so it is really no surprise, despite the propaganda disseminated by those supporters of that school that prefers burnt orange.
